December 2019: I presented my work at the British Ecological Society’s annual meeting in Belfast. View slides from my talk here.
November 2019: As part of a mentoring event, I gave a talk at “Tea with Academics” with undergraduate biology students.
September 2019: Delighted to begin a position at Queen Mary University of London as a Teaching & Scholarship Lecturer. I will be continuing my research on the anthropogenic impacts on biodiversity in freshwater ecosystems and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in biostatistics and ecology. June 2019: Delighted to receive a British Ecology Society Large Grant for new work on sedimentary DNA from lake cores. We will be ground-truthing changes in fish communities in response to pollution using fish DNA.
March 2019: We host Laura Mydlarz, Associate Chair of the Department of Biology, University of Texas at Arlington, for a Ecology & Evolution seminar talk. Additionally, I host a special breakfast seminar with her focused on under-represented groups in STEM themed around “Mentorship, sponsorship and curating your OWN successful career”.
Feb 2019: I am invited to participate in a working group examining how genomic tools can contribute to better food traceability in Quebec.
