Nature Counts LAB

Dr. Joanne Littlefair

Ecology and Data Science MSc Joanne is the module convenor for Tech for Nature, a core taught module within this programme at UCL East. She teaches the principles of sensing systems, novel tech for visual, remote and audio sensing, genetic monitoring, and the ethics of biodiversity monitoring, featuring collaborative contributions from lab members and ZSL.

Joanne has a wide variety of university teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level from her time at QMUL, for example:

  • Module organiser: Practical Biology (Year 1 BSc, 2021-2023)
  • Module organiser: BSc Undergraduate Research Projects (Year 3 BSc, 2021-2023)
  • Lecturer: Diversity and Ecology (Foundation Year, 2019-2023)
  • Module organiser/Lecturer: Infectious Disease Biology (Year 2 BSc, 2019-2023)
  • Lecturer: Research Methods and Communication (Year 2 BSc, 2019-2023)
  • Module organiser: Statistics for Bioinformaticians (MSc, 2019-2021)

She also achieved Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy in 2023.
